Game Overview
Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo is basically Tetris on steroids, but with Capcom’s fighting game characters crammed into tiny, adorable chibi forms. You drop colored blocks, match gems to clear them, and watch as your combos rain chaos on your opponent’s side of the screen. It sounds simple, but the way chains and counters work means one wrong move can bury you fast.
I love how the game mashes up characters from Street Fighter, Darkstalkers, and even Red Earth—Ryu and Morrigan throwing down in puzzle form never gets old. The GBA version keeps everything tight and snappy, though I still miss the arcade announcer yelling "GEMU OBA!" when you drop the hammer on someone. If you like your puzzle games with a side of hype, this one’s a blast.
