Pick your team, hit the field, swing for the fences, and try to score runs while getting three outs each inning in Super R.B.I Baseball on SNES.
Super R.B.I. Baseball came out for the Super Nintendo in 1994, developed by Tengen. It was part of that wave of early to mid-90s sports games that tried to bring a simpler, arcade feel home, before everything got hyper-realistic. It didn't try to simulate a full MLB season; it was just about picking a team and playing a quick game.
You control all the fielders and the batter, working to score runs and get three outs each inning. The main objective is just to win the game, either against the computer or a friend. Signature mechanics include the straightforward three-button batting (swing, bunt, and a power swing that's harder to time) and the very basic fielding where you run to the ball and press a button to throw. The pacing is fast, and the difficulty can spike with certain pitchers, but it never feels overly complicated. It feels like a stripped-down, immediate version of baseball where every hit is a potential extra-base hit if you connect just right.
