Game Overview

Super R.B.I. Baseball on SNES is that weird, slightly off-brand baseball game you’d rent as a kid when the store was out of Ken Griffey Jr. It’s got all the real 1994 MLB players (well, their names at least), but the teams are stripped of logos and colors—like someone hastily scribbled out trademarks with a Sharpie. The stadiums look familiar but just different enough to avoid lawsuits.

You’ve got a bunch of modes to mess with: Home Run Derby for quick swings, Playoffs if you’re feeling serious, and this odd "Game Breaker" thing where you jump into random late-game scenarios (down by 2, bases loaded, etc.). No save feature, so you’ll be jotting down those old-school passwords if you want to keep your league progress. Jack Buck’s commentary is a nice touch, though—he sounds genuinely surprised when you botch a routine catch.

It’s not the prettiest or deepest baseball sim, but there’s something charming about its janky, almost-parody vibe. Just don’t expect it to replace your copy of MLBPA Superstars.
