You pilot the R-9, Earth’s last hope against the BYDO Empire, through seven brutal stages packed with those iconic, screen-filling bosses. The first time one of those things unfolds from the background, you’ll panic—trust me.
The real magic is the FORCE system. These little orb companions latch onto your ship, acting as both shields and firepower. At first, I kept losing mine by accidentally detaching them (whoops), but once you get the hang of juggling their positions, they turn into absolute bullet-spewing monsters. The power-ups feel just right—not too generous, not too stingy—and the pixel art still holds up, especially when everything starts exploding.
Fair warning: it’s tough as nails, like all good shooters should be. You’ll memorize patterns, curse at cheap hits, and fist-pump when you finally take down that one boss that’s been wrecking you for days. If you’ve got a SNES and a love for classic shoot ‘em ups, this one’s a no-brainer.
