Play Swap Online

You’re swapping colored blocks to clear rows before the grid fills up—simple until new layers drop and suddenly you’re hunched over the keyboard, second-guessing every move. That sharp *blip* when a line vanishes never gets old.

Game Overview

Swap was part of the MS-DOS Classic Games collection, a compilation of public domain and shareware titles from the early 1990s. It was a simple puzzle game from that era, the kind you'd find on a disk with dozens of other small programs, all competing for a few minutes of your attention between more substantial tasks.

You control a cursor to select and swap adjacent colored blocks on a grid. The goal is to form horizontal or vertical lines of three or more matching colors to clear them and prevent the playfield from becoming completely full. New rows of blocks drop from the top at regular intervals, steadily increasing the pressure. The game requires quick pattern recognition and a bit of foresight, as a bad swap can easily trap you. It feels like a constant, quiet race against an inevitable collapse.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
