Game Overview

Sweet Ange is one of those weird little Game Boy Color games that somehow sticks with you. You play as this tiny, pastel-haired girl (Ange, I guess?) bouncing through candy-coated levels that look like they were drawn with colored pencils. The controls are simple—just running and jumping—but the levels get surprisingly tricky, with these sneaky hidden paths and oddball enemies like walking cupcakes.

What really got me was the music—super cheerful chiptune tracks that sound like a toy piano on a sugar rush. And yeah, it’s definitely got that Japanese quirkiness—half the time I had no idea why I was collecting floating stars or dodging giant gummy bears, but it didn’t matter. It’s short, maybe an hour or two if you rush, but perfect for when you want something bright and silly without commitment.

If you’ve ever played Kirby or Wario Land and wished they were even more unhinged, this might be your thing. Just don’t expect a deep story—it’s pure, sugary nonsense in the best way.
