Tamagotchi Town on the SNES takes everything you loved about those little egg pets and turns it into a full-blown pixel adventure. Instead of just tapping buttons to feed your pet, you actually walk them through these adorable little towns—like a tiny Tamagotchi vacation. The sprites are so bright and bouncy, and there’s something weirdly satisfying about seeing your digital buddy trot along behind you.
It’s still got all the usual care stuff—feeding, cleaning up after them (because of course they still poop everywhere)—but now you can explore, meet other characters, and even play mini-games. The music’s got that classic SNES cheeriness, and the whole thing just oozes ‘90s charm. If you ever had a Tamagotchi as a kid, this feels like the version you imagined in your head.
Fair warning: it’s in Japanese, but honestly, the icons and animations make most of it pretty intuitive. Just don’t be surprised when you accidentally feed your pet a weird mushroom and it starts floating upside-down.
