Okay, so Tao’s Adventure is this weird little DS RPG where you play as a kid trying to seal away demons with magic. At first, I thought it was just another generic fantasy game, but the combat’s actually kind of cool—you draw elemental seals on the touchscreen to cast spells, which feels way more involved than just pressing buttons.
The story’s got that classic "ancient evil waking up" vibe, but there’s some fun monster designs and the dungeons mix puzzles with battles. Some of the seal-drawing gets finicky (good luck nailing the fire spell every time), but when it works, it’s satisfying. Also, the music’s weirdly catchy for a game this obscure.
It’s not perfect—the pacing drags in spots—but if you’re into DS-era RPGs with a gimmick, this one’s worth dusting off.
