Play Tenkaichi Bushi - Keru Naguuru (Japan) Online
Pick a warrior—samurai, ninja, or monk—and brawl through feudal Japan, leveling up as you go. The combat’s janky but rewarding when you nail those dodges or land a perfect shuriken toss.

Tenkaichi Bushi - Keru Naguuru is one of those weird, forgotten NES gems that never made it out of Japan. It’s this odd but kinda cool mix of side-scrolling brawler and RPG—you pick from three warriors (samurai, ninja, or monk) and beat up enemies while leveling up their stats. The combat’s clunky by today’s standards, but there’s something satisfying about grinding your way through feudal Japan, unlocking new moves as you go.
I went with the samurai first—big sword, slow but heavy hits—and immediately got wrecked by some bandits. Turns out dodging matters way more than I thought. The monk’s quicker, but man, that ninja’s shurikens feel borderline unfair once you get the timing down. The music’s got that classic NES charm too, all chiptune shamisen and drum beats.
It’s definitely rough around the edges, but if you’re into retro oddities, this one’s worth a look. Just don’t expect a smooth ride.
