Terry's Big Adventure is one of those Amiga platformers that feels like a love letter to Mario but with its own weird charm. You’re bouncing around blocky ledges, whipping out a yo-yo to smack hedgehogs and snails—except the recoil actually nudges Terry backward, which is equal parts hilarious and frustrating when you accidentally fling yourself off a cliff.

There’s something oddly satisfying about the way the yo-yo arcs when you hold fire and tilt the joystick, though. The levels are packed with hidden time bonuses and secrets, and thank goodness the game lets you restart from whatever level you last reached—because those rivers? They’re deceptively mean. Twelve levels might not sound like much, but between the ledges, enemies, and that yo-yo physics quirk, it’s a solid little challenge.
