Play Test Drive 2 Online
Pick your dream car and feel its weight as you wrestle with the handling—then suddenly the weather shifts and you're white-knuckling through rain or dodging cops in the dark. Those tight coastal turns will punish you if you don't respect them.

Test Drive 2 on SNES is one of those racers that feels surprisingly good for its time. You pick from a lineup of dream cars—Lambos, Ferraris, Porsches—and immediately notice how weighty they feel compared to other 16-bit racers. The first thing I did was tweak the handling because the default setup felt a little sluggish, but after some adjustments, the Diablo actually responded like I wanted it to.
What’s cool is how the weather changes mid-race. One second you’re cruising under clear skies, then suddenly you’re sliding through rain or squinting at a pitch-black night stretch. The cops show up out of nowhere too, and dodging them while trying to pass rivals keeps things tense. The desert tracks are wide and forgiving, but those coastal roads? One wrong turn and you’re eating guardrail.
It’s not perfect—the AI can be either too easy or weirdly aggressive—but there’s something satisfying about nailing a clean run on the highest difficulty. If you like old-school racers with a bit of depth, this one’s worth a few laps.
