Test Drive: Le Mans came out for the Game Boy Color in 2000, published by Infogrames. It was one of the few racing titles on the handheld that tried to capture the feel of endurance racing, a niche but welcome effort during the system's later years.
You control a variety of Le Mans prototype cars, aiming to complete laps and manage your position against aggressive AI opponents. The game splits your attention between hitting apexes on narrow tracks and watching a fuel gauge that actually depletes over time. Pacing is deliberate; you must balance raw speed with pit strategy to avoid running out of gas or wrecking from tire wear. It feels tense and surprisingly strategic for a pocket-sized racer.
