Play The Hobbit (U)(Evasion) Online
Guide Bilbo Baggins through Hobbiton and the Misty Mountains, platforming, battling foes, solving puzzles, and collecting items to reclaim Erebor from Smaug in this side-scrolling adventure.
I picked up The Hobbit for Game Boy Advance back in 2003, a game developed by Inevitable Entertainment and published by Sierra. It was one of those licensed titles that came out during the GBA's peak, aiming to capture the book's journey without the flash of bigger console releases. It felt very much of its time, a side-scrolling adventure that tried to do a lot with the hardware it had.
You control Bilbo Baggins, moving screen by screen through locations like Hobbiton and the Misty Mountains. The main goal is to help reclaim Erebor from Smaug, which involves platforming, light combat with a short sword, and interacting with characters to solve simple puzzles. You collect items like keys and health-restoring lembas bread, and the pacing is deliberate, sometimes slow, with some awkward jumps and enemy patterns that can frustrate. It feels like a straightforward, sometimes clumsy adaptation that still manages to pull you into its world.
