Play The Lost Vikings on Snes Online

Game Overview

The Lost Vikings came out on the Super Nintendo Entertainment System in 1993, developed by Silicon & Synapse, who would later become Blizzard. It was a time when platformers dominated, but this one stood apart by focusing entirely on puzzles and character switching instead of fast action or power-ups.

You control three Vikings, each with a unique skill: Erik runs and jumps, Baleog fights with a sword and bow, and Olaf blocks attacks with his shield, which can also be used as a temporary platform. The goal is to guide all three to the exit in each level, often by using their abilities in combination, like having Olaf create a step so Erik can reach a high ledge. The game progresses screen by screen, with an emphasis on careful timing and avoiding instant death traps. It requires patience and planning, and the satisfaction of getting everyone through safely makes each solved room feel like a real accomplishment.
