Game Overview

Thunder Warrior is one of those NES games you stumble upon and think, "How have I never heard of this?" It's rough around the edges—no surprise for an unlicensed title—but man, does it throw you right into the action. You start off with this beefy warrior who moves faster than you'd expect, blasting through weird mutant soldiers and jumping over bottomless pits like it's nothing.

The first level hits you with this weirdly tense vibe—dark colors, eerie music, and enemies that just keep coming. I died a lot at first because the jumps are tight, and some platforms are cruel, but once you get the rhythm, it feels surprisingly good. The bosses? Huge, ugly, and satisfying to take down. Not quite Contra-level polish, but there's something about its janky energy that makes it weirdly addictive.

If you're into obscure retro shooters, this one's worth a few deaths. Just don't expect it to go easy on you.
