Thunderbirds Disk2 came out on the Amiga in 1989 from Grandslam Entertainments Ltd. It was one of those games that felt ambitious for its time, trying to capture the spirit of the TV show with a mix of action and strategy. You could tell they put effort into making it look and sound like the source material, which was a nice touch back when licensed games were often rushed.

You control members of International Rescue, switching between two operatives to handle different parts of each mission. The main goal is to complete four rescue operations, like defusing bombs or saving people from disasters. You navigate screen by screen, avoiding hazards and solving simple puzzles by selecting the right gear from your inventory. The pacing is deliberate, almost methodical; you have to think about which character to use and what tool fits the situation. It can be unforgiving if you make a wrong move, but planning each step carefully makes success feel earned. Playing it gives you the satisfaction of coordinating a complex rescue yourself.
