Game Overview

Thunderbirds on the GBA is one of those games that somehow flew under the radar, which is a shame because it absolutely nails the chaotic energy of the show. Within minutes, you're scrambling between different Thunderbird vehicles—one moment you're carefully maneuvering Thunderbird 2 through a storm, the next you're frantically disarming a bomb with seconds to spare. The controls take a little getting used to (that submarine mission almost broke me), but once it clicks, you feel like an actual International Rescue operative.

What surprised me was how much personality they packed into a GBA cart. The sprites are chunky but charming, and hearing those classic sound effects in 16-bit is weirdly satisfying. It's not perfect—some missions feel unfairly tight on time, and good luck figuring out the rescue sequences without trial and error—but that almost adds to the tension. If you grew up watching the Tracy brothers save the day or just love niche retro games with heart, this one's worth dusting off.

Fair warning: you might catch yourself humming the theme song after playing.
