Play Tomahawk Online
Pilot an attack helicopter, navigate hostile terrain, destroy targets, manage ammo and fuel, and dodge enemy fire in this classic flight sim from 1985.
Tomahawk came out in 1985 as part of the MS-DOS Classic Games lineup, developed by Digital Integration. It was one of those early flight sims that didn't try to be realistic, but instead focused on giving you a clear, immediate job to do. In an era where many games were still figuring out how to use the keyboard, it stood out for its straightforward controls and tense action.
You pilot an attack helicopter through hostile territory, navigating low over terrain to avoid radar and enemy fire. Your main goal is to destroy key targets while surviving waves of anti-aircraft guns, tanks, and enemy helicopters. Signature mechanics include managing limited ammunition and fuel, scanning the landscape screen by screen for threats, and timing your attacks carefully. The pacing is relentless; mistakes are punished quickly, and the learning curve is steep. It feels like a constant test of focus and precision, where every successful sortie leaves you relieved and a little bit proud.
Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
