Play Tomb Raider - Underworld (XenoPhobia) Online
Lara's cracking ancient puzzles and leaping across crumbling ruins—some of the brain teasers actually made me pause and rethink my approach. The DS controls take practice, but swinging around with the stylus eventually clicks.

I picked up Tomb Raider: Underworld on the Nintendo DS back in 2008, developed by Crystal Dynamics. It was a time when handhelds were really stretching what they could do with 3D action games, and this one tried to bring a console-style Tomb Raider experience to the small screen. It didn't always hit the mark, but it had its own charm and some clever ideas that made it stand out.
You control Lara Croft as she explores ancient ruins, solves environmental puzzles, and fights off wildlife and mythological creatures. The main goal involves piecing together a Norse myth by collecting artifacts and navigating treacherous, trap filled tombs. Signature mechanics include using the stylus for precise grappling and climbing, solving multi step puzzles that often involve manipulating the environment, and engaging in close combat or using Lara's dual pistols. The pacing is deliberate, with a focus on exploration over constant action, and some sections can be quite challenging due to the camera or controls. It feels like a condensed, thoughtful adventure that rewards patience and careful observation.
