Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 came out on the Game Boy Advance in 2002, published by Activision. It was one of the few attempts to bring the series to a handheld, arriving at a time when the GBA library was expanding with more ambitious titles. You could tell they tried to capture the feel of the console games, even on that small screen.
You pick a pro skater and skate through levels, trying to complete goals within a time limit. The main objectives include collecting letters to spell SKATE, finding the hidden tape, and hitting high scores with trick combos. Signature mechanics include manualing to link grinds and air tricks, as well as reverting to extend your combo multiplier. The pacing is fast, and some goals require precise timing, making it tougher than it looks. It feels satisfying when you finally nail a long combo and hear that score tally up.
