Total Football on the Amiga is one of those games that feels a little awkward at first—the isometric view doesn’t adjust for the angle, so pressing right moves your player along the sideline, not toward the corner flag like you’d expect. Took me a few minutes to stop running sideways by accident. But once you get the hang of it, the controls are surprisingly deep—different button presses change pass strength, and you can even tweak formations before kickoff.

There’s a ton of teams (52, including an all-star squad), and you can play in leagues, knockouts, or a World Cup-style tournament. The options menu is packed, too—adjust match length, weather, even how strict the ref is. I usually go with rain and full strictness just to make things messy. The graphics are simple but clean, and the gameplay’s got that old-school charm where every tackle feels risky. Not the most polished football sim out there, but it’s got personality.
