Total Football_Disk3 is one of those Amiga soccer games that feels a little quirky at first—especially the controls. Instead of moving players toward the screen’s right, they move along their own right, which takes some getting used to. But once you adjust, there’s something oddly satisfying about the way passes and shots work with different button presses.

You’ve got 52 teams to pick from, including an all-star squad, and three main modes: a 16-team league, a knockout cup, and a World Cup-style tournament. Before each match, you pick from eight formations (I usually stuck with 4-4-2, classic but reliable), and that’s about as deep as the tactics go. The real fun is in the little details—like changing the weather to rain just to watch the players slip around or setting the ref to "no fouls" for some chaotic, old-school tackles.

Matches can be as short as 3 minutes or as brutally realistic as 45, though I wouldn’t recommend the longer ones unless you really love pixelated extra time. The isometric view gives it a distinct look, even if it’s not the most intuitive at first. If you’re into retro football games with personality, this one’s worth a kickabout.
