Totsugeki! Ponkotsu Tank is one of those weird little Game Boy games that shouldn’t work but somehow does. You’re in this rickety, barely-held-together tank (the "Ponkotsu" in the title isn’t kidding—it’s basically scrap metal with treads), and everything about it feels like it’s held together by duct tape. The controls are janky, your cannon fires when it feels like it, and half the time you’re just praying your engine doesn’t conk out mid-battle.

But that’s the charm. Missions play out like a mix of strategy and slapstick—you’ll carefully line up a shot only for your tank to lurch sideways or your turret to jam. Enemy tanks aren’t much better, so battles turn into this hilarious mess of misfires and desperate last-second dodges. It’s got that same addictive "one more try" energy as Advance Wars, but with way more personality and way less dignity.
