Game Overview

I picked up Toy Story 3 for the PSP back in 2010, a portable version of the console game developed by Avalanche Software and published by Disney Interactive. It was a solid little title for its time, fitting right in with the kind of family-friendly action adventures you'd expect on the system. The game follows the plot of the film, but it also includes a separate Toy Box mode that really stands out.

You control either Woody or Buzz Lightyear, switching between them to use their unique abilities. Woody can lasso objects and swing across gaps, while Buzz has a laser and can hover for short distances. The main story mode has you running through linear levels, solving simple puzzles, and fighting enemies like the cymbal-banging monkey or Lotso's bear henchmen. In Toy Box mode, you build and customize your own town, complete missions for residents, and unlock new items and outfits. The pacing is generally relaxed, though some combat sections can get a bit repetitive. It feels like being a kid playing with toys, making up your own fun in a digital sandbox.
