TrackMania DS is one of those racing games that feels like it shouldn’t work on the DS—but somehow, it absolutely does. The tracks are wild, full of loops, jumps, and tight corners that’ll have you tilting the handheld like you’re actually steering. At first, I kept wiping out on the half-pipe sections, but once you get the hang of the controls, nailing a perfect run feels ridiculously satisfying.
What’s cool is how quick each race is—you’re in and out in under a minute, which makes it perfect for short bursts. The track editor’s a nice touch too, letting you build your own ridiculous courses when you’re tired of the pre-made ones. Just don’t be surprised when you catch yourself grinding for that top leaderboard spot at 2 AM.
If you’ve got a soft spot for arcade racers, this one’s a no-brainer.
