Transformers Animated: The Game came out for the Nintendo DS in 2008, published by Activision. You control Optimus Prime and a few other Autobots, moving through side-scrolling levels to stop the Decepticons. The main goal is to fight through waves of enemies, solve simple environmental puzzles, and beat stage bosses. Two mechanics stand out: switching between robot and vehicle form on the fly (which changes your movement and attacks), and using the touch screen for special actions or finishing moves. The pacing is brisk, and the difficulty stays manageable without being too simple. It feels like a straightforward, energetic brawler that doesn’t overstay its welcome.
