If you've ever wanted to smash through city streets as Optimus Prime or Bumblebee, this DS game actually makes it feel pretty satisfying. You start off picking your Autobot (I always go for Ironhide—his cannon just feels meatier) and immediately get thrown into chaotic battles where you're flipping between robot and vehicle mode mid-fight. The transformations are clunky in that nostalgic DS-era way, but there's something weirdly fun about ramming Decepticons as a speeding truck before popping back up to punch them.
The missions get repetitive after a while—mostly "destroy X enemies" or "escort Y thing"—but the campaign ties into the movie's plot well enough to keep you pushing through. Just don't expect deep strategy; it's mostly about mashing buttons until everything explodes. The DS graphics do what they can with tiny robots, though some of the bigger boss fights still impress when the screen fills with laser fire.
It's not going to redefine the genre, but for a quick Transformers fix on the go, this one holds up better than you'd think.
