Game Overview

Treasures of the Savage Frontier is one of those old-school Amiga RPGs that feels like stumbling into a dense, slightly confusing fantasy novel. You start off in a tavern (classic), picking your party from a mix of warriors, mages, and rogues—I always went heavy on fighters because magic in this game takes forever to recharge. The world’s packed with random encounters, weird little towns, and dungeons that’ll have you scribbling notes on graph paper.

Combat’s turn-based but faster than you’d expect, and the gear system’s surprisingly deep for its time. Found this cursed sword early on that drained my health every fight—took me ages to realize why my party kept collapsing. The writing’s got that 90s charm too, all dramatic dialogue and over-the-top villain monologues. If you dig retro RPGs with rough edges and a ton of personality, this one’s a time capsule worth cracking open.
