Worlds of Ultima: The Savage Empire came out in 1990 from Origin Systems, one of those MS-DOS adventures that felt expansive for its time. It drops you into a lost world, a place that mixes pulp adventure with low-fantasy strangeness, all rendered in that particular EGA palette that made every jungle and temple feel slightly mysterious and a little crude.

You control the Avatar, a hero pulled from the main Ultima series, and your goal is to find a way home while preventing a tribal war and stopping an ancient evil. You explore the world screen by screen, talking to characters whose allegiances matter, trading for strange artifacts, and fighting everything from hostile warriors to oversized insects with a mix of melee and ranged combat. The game expects you to pay attention to dialogue and think about how you use your party; it's not especially forgiving if you rush in unprepared. It feels like unraveling a dense, sometimes silly, but always earnest story where your choices genuinely nudge the world in one direction or another.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
