Game Overview

Final Frontier was part of the MS-DOS Classic Games collection, though it didn't have a numbered release in that series. It was developed by Impressions Games and published by Sierra On-Line, arriving during the era when strategy games were finding a solid foothold on home computers. The game presents a turn-based space conquest scenario where you manage an empire among the stars, competing with alien factions for dominance.

You control a fledgling interstellar empire, starting with a single homeworld. Your main objective is to expand your influence by colonizing planets, researching new technologies, and building fleets to defend your territory or attack rivals. Key mechanics include managing resource allocation across your colonies, negotiating (and frequently breaking) treaties with computer-controlled alien races, and engaging in tactical fleet combat on a strategic map. The pacing is deliberate, with each turn requiring careful planning, and the difficulty can be unforgiving if you fall behind in tech or expansion. It feels like a tense, calculated struggle for survival where every decision carries weight.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
