Play Trinea (Japan) Online
You juggle three heroes mid-battle—tanking hits as the knight, dodging as the archer, and desperately keeping your mage from getting wrecked. The pixel art pops, and those dungeon puzzles sneak up on you.

Trinea (SNES) is one of those games that makes you wonder how it never left Japan. It’s got that classic action-RPG feel—like if Secret of Mana and Fire Emblem had a weird, slightly chaotic kid. You control three heroes at once, swapping between them on the fly during fights, which sounds simple until you realize each one handles completely differently. The knight’s slow but hits like a truck, the archer’s quick but fragile, and the mage… well, you’ll spend half the time keeping them alive.
The pixel art’s gorgeous, all bright colors and detailed sprites, and the music? Pure late-90s synth magic. Some of the dungeon puzzles actually make you stop and think, which I wasn’t expecting from what looks like a straightforward hack-and-slash at first glance. It’s a shame it never got localized, but if you’re into digging up lost SNES gems, this one’s a solid find.
