Triplane Turmoil came out in 1996 as part of the MS-DOS Classic Games collection, developed by Dodekaedron Software. It was a simple, straightforward dogfighting game from an era when small teams could still put out memorable shareware titles without a lot of graphical flash. You got exactly what was advertised: planes, guns, and a sky full of trouble.
You pilot a World War I-style triplane, engaging in one-on-one or two-on-two aerial duels against either a friend or the computer. The main goal is to shoot down your opponent while avoiding their fire and the unforgiving ground. The controls are deliberately loose and wobbly, making every turn and dive feel precarious. Matches are fast and often end quickly from a well-placed bullet or a clumsy collision. It feels chaotic and a little ridiculous in the best way possible.
Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
