Troddlers came out for the Super Nintendo in 1993, developed by Atod AB. It was one of those puzzle platformers that felt right at home on the system, sitting alongside other methodical, thoughtful games that didn't rely on speed or power. You control a wizard who must guide a group of small, energetic creatures called Troddlers to an exit door on each screen. Your main tools are the ability to create and remove blocks. You'll stack these blocks to build safe pathways, bridge gaps, and sometimes construct barriers to corral your charges, who mindlessly wander and can even climb on the ceiling. The real puzzle is managing their chaotic movement while you frantically place and delete blocks to steer them. The pacing is deliberate; a single mistake can force a restart as the Troddlers fall into pits or get stuck. It feels like conducting a stubborn, unpredictable orchestra where you are building the stage as the performance happens.
