You play as Marcus Reed, an NYPD officer working undercover to dismantle the city's criminal organizations. The core loop involves driving across a scaled down version of New York, responding to street crimes, and engaging in hand to hand brawls or shootouts with gangs. Two mechanics define the experience: a targeting system for gunplay that emphasizes cover and a martial arts fighting style with combos and counters. The driving feels loose and often chaotic, which fits the high speed chases but makes navigation a challenge. Despite some technical shortcomings, navigating the pressure of the city's underworld creates a tense, if occasionally messy, atmosphere.
