I picked up Tsubasa Chronicle for the Nintendo DS back in 2005, a time when the handheld was just starting to show what it could do. You control Syaoran, traveling through different worlds to retrieve Sakura's lost memories. The main objective is straightforward: explore each world, fight enemies, and progress the story. The combat uses a card-based system where you select attacks and spells from a deck, timing your inputs to chain combos or block incoming strikes. You also collect feathers, which are key items tied to the narrative, and solve simple environmental puzzles to open new paths. The pacing is brisk, with some battles feeling surprisingly tactical for a game of its type. It feels like a condensed journey, packed into the DS's dual screens.
