Play Tunneler Online
Dig tunnels like a maniac with your little drill guy, drop bombs to collapse walls on enemies, and panic when the screen fills up with pixel baddies. Pure '90s chaos in the best way.
Tunneler came out in 1991 as part of the MS-DOS Classic Games series, developed by Geoff Crammond. It was one of those straightforward, no-frills action games that felt right at home on a PC in the early '90s, before everything needed a backstory or cinematic cutscenes. You just loaded it up and got straight to the point.
You control a small vehicle with a drill on the front, moving through a maze of dirt and rock, screen by screen. Your main goal is to destroy enemy vehicles by either drilling into them directly or, more strategically, by planting bombs to collapse tunnel walls on top of them. The pacing is relentless; enemies spawn constantly, and if you don't keep moving and drilling, the screen quickly becomes crowded with foes. It feels tense and immediate, like you're barely staying ahead of the chaos.
Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
