Game Overview

Turbo came out in 1987 as part of the MS-DOS Classic Games collection, a bundle of titles from an era when PC gaming was still finding its feet. The developer and publisher remain largely unknown, which adds to its obscure charm; it was just one of many simple, straightforward games you'd load from a floppy disk, hoping it would run on your machine's specific configuration.

You control a small, blocky car from a top-down perspective, weaving through lanes of oncoming traffic that grows denser and more unpredictable with each passing stage. The main objective is simply to survive for as long as possible without crashing, racking up points based on distance covered. Signature mechanics include the ability to shift between two lanes to avoid collisions and the occasional appearance of oil slicks that send your car into a brief, uncontrollable slide. The pacing is relentless; the sense of speed, conveyed through the scrolling background and constant beeps of the sound chip, makes every near-miss feel like a genuine escape. It feels like a tense, focused battle against the road itself.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
