Game Overview

TwinBee (J) [h1] is one of those NES shooters that feels both simple and chaotic at the same time. You control this little cartoon ship with arms, dodging waves of enemies while shooting clouds to make colored bells drop—each one does something different, like speeding you up or giving you extra firepower.

The two-player mode is where it gets fun, though. If you and a friend link your ships together, you can unleash a super attack, but you also risk accidentally shooting each other in the back, which somehow makes your ship fire in all directions. It’s weirdly satisfying when that happens.

Losing an arm means you can’t drop bombs anymore until an ambulance comes to fix you, which is such a strange but charming detail. TwinBee (J) [h1] isn’t the hardest shooter out there, but it’s got enough quirks to keep you coming back.
