Play Tyrian 2000 on Msdos Online
You pilot a scrappy little ship through bullet hell, slowly turning it into a death machine by spending credits on wild upgrades—some weapons just delete enemies while others barely tickle them. Dodging screen-filling bosses feels impossible until you find that one overpowered gun combo.

Tyrian 2000 came out in 1999 as part of the MS-DOS Classic Games series, developed by Eclipse Software. It was a polished re-release of the original 1995 game, adding new levels, ships, and a full episode. In an era dominated by shareware shooters, it stood out for its depth and production values, offering a complete experience without the need for additional purchases.
You control a small, nimble spacecraft, navigating through vertically scrolling stages filled with enemy ships and environmental hazards. The main objective is to survive each level, defeat the boss, and earn credits to upgrade your ship between missions. Signature mechanics include an extensive equipment shop where you can mix and match primary weapons, secondary weapons, and defensive modules, along with a branching mission path that offers some choice in how you progress. The pacing is fast, and the difficulty can be punishing, especially in later stages where enemy bullets saturate the screen. It feels satisfying to gradually build a ship that can handle the chaos you once struggled to survive.
Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
