U.F.O Tracker was one of those MS-DOS Classic Games releases from the early 1990s, a title that came bundled in those zero-cost collections that were common at the time. I don't recall the developer or publisher offhand, but it fit right in with the era's experimental, often minimalist approach to game design, where a simple concept could fill an afternoon if you were patient enough.

You control a radar operator, using keyboard commands to pan a scanner across a monochrome display, trying to detect and lock onto unidentified signals. The main objective is to track these fleeting contacts before they vanish, which involves careful adjustment of your scanner's range and sensitivity. Two signature mechanics define the experience: interpreting distorted, noisy signal patterns to distinguish real threats from false echoes, and managing a limited energy supply that drains with every scan and lock attempt. The pacing is slow and deliberate, almost meditative at first, but the difficulty spikes sharply as signals become more frequent and deceptive. It feels like a tense, solitary vigil, where every blip on the screen carries the weight of a potential discovery or a frustrating miss.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
