Play Universal Soldier (USA, Europe) on gb Online
You play as a tiny Van Damme mowing down soldiers and robots in a chaotic side-scroller—crunchy sound effects and janky jumps included.

Universal Soldier on the Game Boy came out in 1992 from Accolade, a time when licensed action games were common on the handheld. It was based on the film, and like many movie tie-ins of that era, it tried to capture the feel of its source material within the hardware's limitations.
You control Luc Deveraux, moving through side-scrolling stages, shooting enemies with your rifle or using grenades. The goal is to advance screen by screen, defeating soldiers and robotic foes while occasionally rescuing hostages. The game uses a life bar system, and you can find health pickups and extra ammunition scattered in the environment. The pacing is fast, though the controls can feel stiff, and some jumps require precise timing. It feels like a straightforward, sometimes unforgiving run-and-gun experience from the early 90s.
