Play Untouchables, The (Rev A) Online

You kick down doors as Eliot Ness, ducking mobster bullets in tight alleys, then switch to car chases where you pick off gangsters like a shooting gallery—NES-hard, but weirdly satisfying when you nail those shots.

Game Overview

I picked up The Untouchables (Rev A) for the NES back when it came out, a game developed by Ocean Software and based on the De Palma film. It was one of those many licensed titles that tried to capture a movie's energy on the limited hardware, standing alongside other action games of the late 80s and early 90s that often prioritized straightforward action over deep mechanics.

You control Eliot Ness, moving through side-scrolling urban environments to dismantle Al Capone's criminal operations. The main objective is to progress through each stage, eliminating gangsters and eventually confronting bosses. The gameplay shifts between on-foot sections, where you shoot enemies and kick down doors to reveal items or hostages, and driving sequences that play like a light gun shooter, requiring you to aim and fire at pursuing vehicles. The difficulty is consistently high, with limited continues and enemies that respawn quickly, demanding precise shots and quick reactions. It feels like a relentless test of timing and accuracy, where every cleared screen brings a small but tangible relief.
