Wacky Races on Game Boy Color is exactly as ridiculous as the cartoon—in the best way possible. You pick one of those gloriously weird racers (I always go for Penelope Pitstop, because who doesn’t love a good parasol?) and then it’s pure chaos from there. The tracks are full of absurd hazards—oil slicks, giant rolling boulders, the works—and half the fun comes from lobbing banana peels backward just to watch someone spin out behind you.
The graphics pop with that classic GBC color palette, and the little character sprites somehow nail everyone’s personality. Dick Dastardly even does his signature sneer when he’s about to pull something shady. It’s not the deepest racing game, but it’s got this infectious energy where every race feels like a cartoon episode—complete with last-second backfires when your own traps blow up in your face. Perfect for short bursts of mayhem.
