Play Wacky Races Online
Pick a cartoon racer with janky handling, then swerve through chaotic tracks dodging oil slicks and lobbing freeze missiles at the other weirdos. That cactus you just crashed into? Happens to everyone at first.

Wacky Races on the Game Boy Color came out in 2000, developed by Handheld Games and published by Infogrames. It was one of those late-era GBC titles that tried to capture the feel of a cartoon license with simple, colorful graphics and straightforward action. You could tell it was meant for quick sessions, maybe between bus rides or before class, back when handhelds were still mostly black and white or had that chunky, limited palette.
You pick one of the show's racers, like Dick Dastardly or Penelope Pitstop, and try to win each race across several themed tracks. The controls are a bit slippery, and you have to dodge obstacles like oil slicks or cacti while using items like freeze missiles or smoke screens against the other drivers. The screen scrolls by in a side view, and you move from left to right, trying not to fall behind or crash too often. It's not an easy game; the AI can be aggressive, and the courses throw a lot at you. Still, there's a goofy charm to bouncing around and causing mischief, even when you finish last. It feels like a messy, unpredictable cartoon brought to life, for better or worse.
