WarioWare D.I.Y. came out on the Nintendo DS in 2010, developed and published by Nintendo. You control Wario and his crew as they guide you through creating, testing, and sharing your own microgames, which are ultra short challenges lasting just a few seconds each. The main objective is to design these tiny interactive experiences using a suite of editors for graphics, sound, and simple programming logic. Signature mechanics include drawing your own characters and backgrounds with the stylus, composing short music tracks or sound effects, and scripting behaviors with an intuitive if-then system. The pace is frantic during playtesting, as you rapidly iterate on ideas that often fail in hilarious ways until they work.
