Play Wayne Gretzky and the NHLPA All-Stars (Beta) Online

You pick a team of NHL stars in fake jerseys, then slam into opponents and fire slapshots in fast, arcade-style hockey—way simpler than real life, but the hits feel great. That announcer loses his mind over every goal.

Game Overview

Wayne Gretzky and the NHLPA All-Stars was that weird hockey game from the mid-90s where they couldn’t use actual NHL teams because of the lockout. So instead, you got Gretzky leading a bunch of generic squads with made-up names—kind of like playing pickup hockey with pros in jerseys from a rec league.

It’s got that classic arcadey SNES hockey feel—fast, a little chaotic, and way more forgiving than real hockey. The controls are simple enough that you can pull off slapshots and dekes without memorizing button combos, which was nice when you just wanted to jump into a game. The graphics are bright, the hits are satisfying, and the announcer sounds way too excited about everything.

Not gonna lie, it’s no NHL ’94, but if you found this cart in a bargain bin back in the day, you probably got some fun out of it. The lack of real teams is weird at first, but you stop noticing once you’re knee-deep in breakaways.
