Game Overview

So, Wayne's World on Sega Genesis—yeah, it's exactly as ridiculous as it sounds, and that's kind of the point. You start off watching Wayne and Garth do their usual schtick on their show, cracking jokes about bad arcade games, until—whoosh—you're suddenly thrown into this weird, colorful platformer where Wayne's gotta rescue Garth from some alien named Zantar. Classic.

The gameplay's pretty straightforward—jump around, bash enemies with Wayne's guitar (which, yes, makes the most absurd noise when you attack), and try not to faceplant into spikes. The levels are these goofy, exaggerated takes on places from the movie, like a music store packed with floating CDs and Stan Mikita's Donut Shop, which is somehow full of hazards. It's not the tightest platformer ever, but the humor and sheer '90s-ness of it all make up for the jank. Also, the soundtrack? Surprisingly decent for a licensed game.

If you're into weird retro games or just love the movie, it's worth a play—just don't expect it to be a hidden gem. It's more of a "so bad it's good" kind of thing. Party on.
