Wayne's World came out on the NES in 1993, published by THQ. It was one of those late era licensed games that felt a bit out of place, a movie tie-in arriving just as the 16-bit consoles were taking over. You control either Wayne or Garth, moving screen by screen through a side scrolling world based on locations from the film.
Your main goal is to rescue Cassandra from the villain, Benjamin Kane. You punch and kick enemies, and you can find a gun that shoots records for a more powerful attack. The game requires a lot of careful jumping across platforms and searching each area for the correct exit. The pacing is slow, and the controls feel stiff, making some jumps more frustrating than they should be. Playing it feels like wrestling with the hardware's limitations to get to the next joke.
