Game Overview

Wild West World was part of the MS-DOS Classic Games collection, released in 1990 by developer Softdisk. It arrived during a period when side-scrolling action games were common, and it fit right in with the straightforward, pixel-heavy adventures of the time.

You control a lone cowboy navigating a series of desert and town screens, clearing out enemies to progress. The main goal is to survive each area, defeating outlaws and avoiding hazards like cacti and dynamite. Signature mechanics include screen-by-screen exploration, where each new section loads with its own set of threats, and simple shooting with limited ammunition that must be managed carefully. The pacing is brisk, and the difficulty can feel unforgiving due to tight enemy placement and limited lives. It feels tense and immediate, like every shot could be your last.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
