Windwalker came out in 1989 from Origin Systems, one of those MS-DOS games that felt ambitious for its time. It blended fantasy and a kind of surreal, floating world aesthetic that wasn't common in the platformers and dungeon crawlers of the era. You control a warrior monk who explores a series of mystical islands, fighting demons and searching for pieces of a magical artifact. Movement is screen by screen; you jump between platforms, use a bow for ranged attacks, and kick enemies at close range. The pace is deliberate, and the jumping can feel a bit slippery, which adds to the challenge. It's a game that requires patience and precision, and finishing a tough section gives a real sense of accomplishment.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
